Radio Silence · A Hackyard Yard #6 entry
Modem
Modem
Warfare
Two phones in airplane mode. One naval war fought in dial-up chirps and QR codes. No internet, no server, no cheating.
Free in your browser. Best with two phones and a friend in the same room.

How to play
Hide. Salute. Fire.
- Place your fleet. Four ships on a 7 by 7 grid, hidden from your opponent. The moment you confirm, your layout is sealed under a salted hash, before a single shot is fired.
- Salute, then trade salvos. A QR handshake pairs the two phones. Each round you fire three shots, and the phones exchange shots and results by sound or by QR. Nothing ever touches a network.
- The reveal audits everything. When the last ship sinks, both phones open their fleets and replay every round against the sealed hashes. The match is stamped VERIFIED, or LIAR with the finding named.
- 0internet. No servers, no accounts, no signal at all
- 2 playersface to face, one room, two phones
- 10/10chirps decoded at one metre, on real phones
- ~12 bytescarry a full round of the war
- VERIFIED, or LIARevery match ends with the audit stamp. A moved ship cannot hide
Straight from the game.

Directed by a human. Built by the workshop.
Modem Warfare was built for Hackyard Yard #6, “Offline”, by the Zouroboros Workshop from written briefs: seven build campaigns, 4 hours 47 minutes of build time, 66.6 million tokens, every stage test-gated before it shipped. The wartime soundtrack is an original score synthesised in code, and it ducks to silence whenever a chirp is on the air.
